If things had gone just a little differently, Cidian Edwards would be wrapping up law school right now.
Instead, the Duke graduate is an essential liaison between Sturgeon Technology Solutions’ customers and the teams that take, fill, and deliver on their orders. Rather than studying for the bar exam, she’s ensuring bar code scans result in the right products reaching buyers. The legal trade’s loss is Sturgeon’s gain.
“This has really expanded my horizons,” said Cidian, an account manager who joined Sturgeon in 2021. “This wasn’t the path I had lined up for myself, but I feel valued here and my customers are happy.”

Her day-to-day responsibilities are varied and complex, stretching from ensuring the integrity and security of data destruction for financial institutions, particularly when a bank requires a swift and secure shutdown of its data centers, to collaborating closely with a testing manager.
