Employee Spotlight: Cidian Edwards

If things had gone just a little differently, Cidian Edwards would be wrapping up law school right now.

Instead, the Duke graduate is an essential liaison between Sturgeon Technology Solutions’ customers and the teams that take, fill, and deliver on their orders. Rather than studying for the bar exam, she’s ensuring bar code scans result in the right products reaching buyers. The legal trade’s loss is Sturgeon’s gain.

“This has really expanded my horizons,” said Cidian, an account manager who joined Sturgeon in 2021. “This wasn’t the path I had lined up for myself, but I feel valued here and my customers are happy.”

Cidian's commitment to achieving customer satisfaction is the result of her unwavering dedication and hard work. Her day-to-day responsibilities are varied and complex, stretching from ensuring the integrity and security of data destruction for financial institutions, particularly when a bank requires a swift and secure shutdown of its data centers, to collaborating closely with a testing manager.

This collaboration is crucial to ensure that all equipment is processed efficiently and within the stipulated time frames. Cidian's meticulous attention to detail and her proactive approach to anticipating the needs of the next task are hallmarks of her work ethic.

Her role often necessitates a high level of communication skills. Acting as the pivotal point of contact among diverse stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and external third-party vendors, Cidian excels in her capacity to facilitate seamless communication. She is responsible for conveying essential shipping updates, explaining the rationale behind specific orders to the warehouse teams, and coordinating delivery schedules with logistics companies.
