Employee Spotlight: Hannah Roberts

May 13, 2024

Project coordinators are at the center of everything at Sturgeon Technology Solutions, orchestrating interactions among customers, warehouse managers, technology specialists, and logistics teams.

To thrive in a role that touches it all, it helps to have experienced it all. And Hannah Roberts has. Her Sturgeon career began in the summer of 2020 with a position on the inventory team. Hannah’s risen through several teams, day by day and project by project, to her current role.

“That’s given me a chance to learn so much about each department,” she says. “Working my way up, I got to learn from all different people. I know what it's like to be in inventory. I know what it's like to be in testing.”

That broad experience gives her an expansive perspective on how Sturgeon delivers for customers. With customers, she can speak expertly to the full range of services. And she can orchestrate among the teams who provide those services with empathy. That’s Hannah’s Sturgeon superpower. From the speed demanded by the warehouse floor to the intense focus needed for testing wiped laptops, she’s been where many of her colleagues are now, and she understands the skill and focus they bring to the work.

A typical day for Hannah starts with email. She’ll check hers to make sure nothing needs immediate attention. From there, she checks in on the flow at the warehouse and sends inventory reports and invoices to her customers. From there, the day could go anywhere: ensuring a shipment of laptops goes out to a customer’s new hires on time, walking a new customer through the full range of Sturgeon services, or meeting with her manager to ask questions about a new project type she’s taking on.

“It's always different,” she says. “What I really love is that I can spend five hours in my office, and if I get tired of being there, I can go to the warehouse. I never get bored.”

Another thing she loves about working at Sturgeon: the culture. Wherever the day takes her, Hannah knows she’ll go there with teammates who love the journey as much as she does. And, like her, they’ll probably bring their dogs. Sturgeon’s pet-friendly environment means Hannah and her colleagues can bring their dogs to work, share them on Slack, and post their photos on the office dog wall.

“I would never want to leave,” Hannah says. “There’s never been any drama. We know when it's business time, and we know when it's play time. Throughout the day, there’s always the perfect mix of both.”

What’s next for Hannah? The possibilities are endless, and you can be sure she’ll pursue them the same way she’s grown into her project coordinator role: with an open mind and a willingness to learn from anyone and everyone she meets along the way.

Thanks for all you do for Sturgeon and our customers, Hannah!
